CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
Cleaning
- Dust Regularly: Use a soft, dry cloth or a microfiber duster to remove dust.
- Wipe Spills Immediately: If liquid spills occur, wipe them up right away with a soft, dry cloth to prevent moisture from seeping into the MDF, which can cause swelling or warping.
- Use Mild Cleaners: For routine cleaning, use a damp cloth with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals, as they can damage the finish. After wiping with a damp cloth, always dry the surface immediately with a clean, dry cloth.
2. Avoid Moisture
- Protect from Water: MDF is highly susceptible to water damage, so avoid placing your table in areas with high humidity or direct contact with water.
- Use Coasters and Mats: To prevent water rings, always use coasters under drinks and placemats under hot dishes.
3. Prevent Scratches and Damage
- Use Soft Pads: Place felt or rubber pads under decorative items, lamps, or anything that sits on the table to prevent scratches.
- Avoid Sharp Objects: Be careful with items that could scratch the surface, such as keys or utensils.
- Protect from Heat: Avoid placing hot items directly on the table, as high temperatures can damage the MDF and its finish. Use trivets or heat-resistant mats.
4. Avoid Direct Sunlight
- Protect from UV Rays: Direct sunlight can fade or discolor the finish of an MDF table over time. If possible, keep the table out of direct sunlight or use window coverings to limit exposure.
5. Handling and Moving
- Lift, Don’t Drag: When moving the table, always lift it instead of dragging to prevent the joints from weakening or the surface from scratching.
6. General Maintenance
- Inspect Regularly: Check for any signs of damage, such as chips or scratches. If you notice any, consider using an appropriate touch-up kit or marker designed for MDF furniture.
- Reapply Finish: If the table has a laminate or painted finish, it may need to be refreshed over time. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for reapplying or repairing the finish.
